My grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Nida, grew up near Perry in the small communities of Orlando and Sumner. Two years after they married, they purchased a farm northeast of Perry, where my dad, Gary, and his two brothers were raised. We still proudly own that “home place,” and it’s where my wife and I plan to build our new home — continuing the Nida family legacy into its fourth generation.

I grew up in Oklahoma City, where my dad worked as a veterinarian and my mom as a teacher. Even so, Perry was never far from home. We made frequent trips to visit my grandparents and spend time at the farm. My grandfather taught me countless lessons — from his work as a farmer, rancher, carpenter, and county assessor, to his role as vice president of the Exchange Bank in Perry. It was on that land, under his guidance, that I developed a lifelong love for crops, livestock, and agriculture — a passion that led me to Oklahoma State University and a degree in Animal Science.

After more than 20 years in management roles, I’m proud to return to my roots as the owner of Noble County Meats in Perry. My wife, Felicia Nida, grew up in a small town in the Texas Panhandle, shares this vision and has played an essential role in building our business. She is a registered nurse and has served in the U.S. Air Force since 2003.

We’re deeply grateful to those who helped make this dream a reality — the Exchange Bank for financing our build; Jimmy Ladwig with Ladco for guiding us through the project; Blake Mullet with R&M Dirt Work; Bolding Electric; OK Spray Foam; Peter Tobin with WB Containers; and many others who contributed along the way.

Together, we look forward to growing with the Perry community, raising our family here, and serving Oklahoma agriculture by providing honest, high-quality meat processing with hometown care.
